For me, the best trips are as much about the journey as the destination itself. I undertook my first epic trip aged 19 on the Trans Mongolian Railway between Moscow and Beijing, and this was just the beginning of a love affair with travel which has provided me with countless extraordinary experiences in over 50 countries around the world. In 2007, I decided to use my passion to embark on a career in the travel industry, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than helping clients to plan their perfect holiday whilst sharing my own first-hand knowledge along the way!
In 2009 I made my first trip to Iceland, and fell in love with somewhere just three hours - yet seemingly a million miles - away. I have been fortunate enough to return since to explore the island in much more detail and never fail to be amazed by the rugged, dramatic landscapes which are so unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been. What I have learned most on my travels is that the highlights are often those places you might never have heard of; places such as the Grábrók volcanic crater and the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon. I’d encourage anyone visiting Iceland to get off-the-beaten-track as this may well lead to the most memorable experiences.
