in Central Asia- Tour Itineraries
A
13 day extensive tour of Tajikistan & Uzbekistan from £POA per person
The mysterious and mountainous
Republic of Tajikistan, a forgotten pocket of former Soviet Central Asia sandwiched
between China, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is the focus of this new
itinerary. The smallest of the Central Asian states boats, with over 90% of the
country being mountainous, some of Central Asia's highest peaks, including Peak
Lenina and Peak Communisma. Spending seven nights in Tajikistan, this tour gives
an introductory view of this glorious country, the oft forgotten Republic. Starting
in Tashkent spend a night in the bustling Uzbek capital before driving east to
Kyrgyzstan and the town of Osh. This is a mere transit point however, and from
here head onto the mountainous Pamiri Highway, entering Tajikistan via the 4282
metre Kyzyl-Art Pass. The next few days will be spent travelling to Dushanbe,
via the main settlements of the autonomous Gorno- Badakhshan region. From Dushanbe
return to Tashkent via the city of Samarkand, completing a loop through three
countries and the highlands of Central Asia. Tajikistan:
Currently the Tajik government has insisted that visa
applicants from the UK present themselves in person at the nearest Tajik embassy
in order to obtain a visa for Tajikistan. Unfortunately for people resident in
the UK, the nearest embassy for Tajikistan is in Brussels, although visas can
also be arranged at the Tajik embassy in Tashkent if you wished to combine Tajikistan
with an Uzbekistan tour. Therefore we would still like to present to
you what we can potentially offer travellers for this destination and will update
you as soon as the current situation changes.
