Svalbard Light Winter Break
Travel high above the Arctic Circle on this incredible, 5-day winter adventure to Norway's remote archipelago, Svalbard. The idyllic setting of Longyearbyen, with its colourful buildings nestled in stark contrast against Spitsbergen's rugged mountains and icy plains, never fails to charm its visitors.
From February to April, as the sun begins to reappear over the horizon after months of polar night, but snow still blankets the ground, making this an ideal time to visit Svalbard for the perfect combination of bright blue skies and incredible arctic adventures like snowmobiling, dog sledding, and ice caving.
When darkness falls, if you are lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the northern lights dancing above the village.
This holiday is based on spending 4 nights at the centrally located, 4-star Radisson Blu Polar Hotel. Alterative accommodation includes:

Tour Itinerary
Arrive at Longyearbyen airport and transfer to the hotel, check in for 4 nights.
After breakfast, embark on a dog sledding adventure and feel the thrill of riding through the Arctic wilderness pulled along by a pack of husky dogs. Following the riverbed as it meanders back and forth into Bolterdalen with mountainous ranges surrounding the area, this half day trip offers awe inspiring scenery and adventure. Keep an eye out for wild reindeer, Svalbard grouse and polar foxes. (B)
Ride in a gigantic snowcat out of town on up onto the Longyear Glacier, following the meltwater channels into the heart of the glacier. See awe inspiring crystal formations within the frozen walls while exploring the glittering cave. In the evening, enjoy a visit to Camp Barentz. Indulge in a few drinks and a hearty dinner cooked over an open fire while the camp hosts keep you entertained with tales about the area. (B,D)
Take part in an exhilarating snowmobile adventure through the winding Helvetiadalen to Elveneset, where the valley opens into the Sassenfjorden. Enjoy phenomenal views over the Isfjord and towards the mighty Tempel Mountain and experience the fun of driving across Svalbard's impressive landscapes on this exciting safari. (B)
