Tour Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrive Baku by own arrangement. On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Check in for a two night stay.
DAY 2
BAKU & ABSHERON PENINSULA
BAKU & ABSHERON PENINSULA
Enjoy the day touring Baku. Commencing your tour at around 0900 sites to visit this morning will include the Shirvanshah’s Palace, Maidan Tower, Ateshgah and the Carpet Museum. After lunch enjoy an excursion to the Absheron Peninsula, where sightseeing will include the Yanar Dag Burning Mountain, Mardakan Castle and Ramana Castle. DAY 3
BAKU—GOBUSTAN—SHAMAKHI—SHEKI
BAKU—GOBUSTAN—SHAMAKHI—SHEKI
Departing Baku at approximately 0900 head to and tour the Gobustan National Park before driving to Shamakhi to tour the Diribaba Mausoleum. After lunch visit the Juma Mosque (Friday Mosque), Shamakhi City and Seven Domes, a complex of Tombs built for Shirvan’s Royal family in the 18th century. Drive onto Sheki and check into your hotel for a one night stay. (B, L) (Distance travelled approximately 350km)
DAY 4
SHEKI—LAGODEKHI—TBILISI

Once more departing at around 0900 check out of your hotel and visit this morning the Sheki Khan’s Palace. After lunch drive to the Georgian border at Lagodekhi. On completing all border formalities continue to Tbilisi, breaking the journey at the Gremi Architectural Complex en-route. Arrive in the Georgian capital and check into your hotel for a three night stay. (B, L) (Distance travelled approximately 320km)

Commence an introductory half day city tour this morning, with sights to include the Old City, Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress and Abanotubani (Sulphur bathhouse district), Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica and Rustaveli Avenue. After this introductory excursion enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure in Tbilisi. (B, D) (Distance travelled less than 50 km)

Enjoy a day trip from Tbilisi to tour the famous wine region of Georgia, Kakheti. Visits today will include Bodbe Nunnery, Sighaghi Royal Town and the Tsinandali Family Estate. Wine tasting at a local winery will also be included. (B, L) (Distance travelled approximately 380km)
DAY 7
TBILISI—MTSKHETA—GUDAURI

Departing Tbilisi drive to Mtskheta, the religious capital of Georgia. Here visit Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. From Mtskheta ascend the Georgian Military Highway and visit the Ananuri Architectural Complex. After lunch enjoy a hike (approximately 3 hours round trip) to the Gergeti Trinity Church. From here head to Gudauri and check into your hotel for an overnight stay. (B,L,D) (Distance travelled approximately 205 km)
DAY 8
GUDAURI—UPLISTSIKHE—GORI—KUTAISI
GUDAURI—UPLISTSIKHE—GORI—KUTAISI
Descend the Georgian Military Highway and visit the cave town of Uplistsikhe. After lunch visit Gori (birthplace of Stalin) and the Stalin Museum. From Gori head west to Kutaisi. Arrive in Kutaisi and check into your hotel for an overnight stay. (B, L) (Distance travelled approximately 335 km)
DAY 9
KUTAISI—BATUMI
KUTAISI—BATUMI
This morning visit the Gelati Monastery before driving west to Batumi. Check into your hotel for a two night stay. After lunch enjoy an introductory excursion of the pleasant city. (B, L) (Distance travelled approximately 145 km)
DAY 10
BATUMI
BATUMI
Enjoy the day free in Batumi to explore the city at leisure. This evening enjoy a farewell group dinner. (B,D)

OPTIONAL AM EXCURSION: Enjoy an optional excursion to Batumi Botanical Garden. Excursion includes transport, guiding and entry fees. This excursion requires a minimum of 4 persons to operate.

OPTIONAL PM EXCURSION: Enjoy an optional excursion to the Mountains of Ajara. This will include Makhuntseli Waterfall, Queen Tamara Bridge, Ajarian Wine House and the Gonio Fortress. Excursion includes transport, guiding and entry fees. This excursion requires a minimum of 4 persons to operate.
DAY 11
DEPART BATUMI
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)
