Hotel and Room Facilities at the Hotel Ranga...

The Hotel Ranga offers 24 Superior Rooms all with bath or shower, hairdryer, telephone, TV, radio and mini-bar plus 20 deluxe rooms that also include CD and DVD player, flat-screen TV and bathrobes. Some rooms face the riverside and are equipped with hot tubs and private balconies, while the rooms that face Mount Hekla are equipped with indoor Jacuzzis.

In addition, there are four junior suites, two master suites and one royal suite. The fashionable Junior Suites are each designed with a different theme from all the continents of the world and feature chic decor. The suites draw their inspiration from the 6 continents - choose to stay in an Aztec influenced or Japanese style suite amongst others. The Royal Suite faces the Riverside, Mt Hekla and the thermal pond.

Northern Lights at the Hotel Ranga....
The Hotel Ranga lies in a secluded, countryside area away from any light pollution and benefits from the clearer skies of South Iceland and so can provide optimal conditions to view the skies without light interference. Relaxing in geo-thermally heated outdoor hot tubs, can make viewing the Northern Lights an experience of a lifetime, for those who visit from September to April, when viewing the aurora is possible.

The staff at the Hotel Ranga, are always happy to provide useful information about The Northern Lights for those who are interested in knowing more about the phenomena. In addition, they also have an excellent photo gallery with pictures taken at the hotel or nearby the hotel, showing what fantastic images can be possible when the Aurora is present in the vicinity. What’s more, they keep a night-time watch over the skies and will inform you (if you wish!) when the Northern Lights appear, so that you don’t have to wait up all night!
