Tour: Riga-Klaipeda-Nida-Kaliningrad-Vilnius

Riga-Klaipeda-Nida-Kaliningrad-Vilnius

Highlights: 15 day tour

Explore Latvia, Lithuania and Kaliningrad in Russia on this unique itinerary developed by Regent Holidays. By using the excellent local bus system - we are able to connect the cities, harbour towns and villages included in this Baltic holiday.

Price from: £945 pp

This new individual itinerary starts in the cosmopolitan capital of Latvia and uses the excellent local bus connections to Klaipeda and onwards to Nida on the stunning Curonian Spit. The quaint fishing village of Nida is an ideal base from which to explore further afield such as Thomas Mann’s summer house and the eerie ‘Hill of Witches’.

This itinerary also includes a few days in Kaliningrad. Once a wealthy German port and university town called Königsberg, Kaliningrad changed beyond recognition under Soviet control. The enclave is separated from mother Russia by hundreds of miles of Lithuanian and Belarusian soil. Amid the austere Soviet architecture, there are still suggestions of a more creative German past. Picturesque Königsberg buildings, such as the cathedral, become even more appealing amid a sea of monotonous concrete.

This itinerary is based on good three-star central hotels, bus and train tickets, as well as a private transfer from Lithuania to Kaliningrad. We can of course tailor-make this itinerary to suit you, if you would prefer to stay longer in any one place or upgrade your hotels to four/five-star.
