A 5 day self-drive holiday tour of Iceland's Western region and Reykjavik

Visit during Autumn and Spring and experience the breathtaking natural beauty and pure, fresh Icelandic air or visit during Winter and you will have a romantic outdoor adventure with a chance to see the magical Northern Lights.

Flights are with Icelandair from London Heathrow (Glasgow flights also available) to Keflavik (for Reykjavik)

Itinerary
Day 1	Arrival Keflavik International Airport - 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Pick up rental car. Optional visit to Blue Lagoon - stunning open air spa. Head for NR1 ring road to Borganes and check into newly-opened Icelandair Hotel Hamar for two nights' stay. Manager's welcome letter and fruits in the room.
Day 2	The magic of Borgarfjörður Step into west Iceland's rich history and explore its magnificent natural wonders: the splendour of the Hraunfossar falls; the Snæfellsnes peninsula - great for whale-watching and bird-spotting tours; the Langjökull and Snæfellsjökull glaciers, for exciting snowmobile trips; the site of Egils Saga; Europe's biggest hot spring; and several golf courses close by. In the evening, there's a chance to relax in the Hamar's revitalising, outdoor hot-pots, before a farewell three-course dinner, with main course choice of fish or meat.
Day 3	Southern Splendour En route back to Reykjavik, head south for Iceland's best loved tourist attractions, 'The Golden Circle' trio: mighty Gulfoss waterfall, Geysir's spouting hot springs and Thingvellir - site of the world's oldest parliament. There's also historic Skálkot church and Kerið, a 3,000-year-old volcanic crater. Check into one of Reykjavik's four star Icelandair Hotels for the last two nights.
Day 4	Remarkable Reykjavik A day to explore the capital - sightseeing, relaxing spa visit, museum trip - or simply soaking up Reykjavik's unique atmosphere. For the more adventurous, take a south coast drive and walk behind the wondrous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, then on to Skógar, with its fascinating folk museum.
Day 5	Departure Free morning, if late departure, or Blue Lagoon visit en route to airport. Drop off rental car and fly home.
