Really great trip - very interesting place and you offer good hotels (like the Londonskaya - feels like an old palace). Local partner was superb - all drivers very helpful and punctual.
Hotel Bristol in Yalta was good all round, central and fab breakfast buffet.
Hotel Odessa in Odessa phallic monstrocity blocking sea view for town but excellent room and breakfast!
Hotel President in Kiev - was very brown and much as described but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our drivers were excellent and punctual - particularly appreciated being met at 1am in Kiev at our carriage. We arranged extra tours to Bakhchisarai and our driver took us to a great restaurant. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Regent Holidays. Thank you for making a dream come true.
It is no longer rquired to declare money on entry to Moldova. We recommend the Orheiul Vechi excursion from Chisinau. We went with the same guide (Natasha) who took us to Tiraspol. She was very informative and nice. Chisinau is not geared up for tourists (to put it midly) and it can be hard to find somewhere to eat. There is a cluster of restaurants at the end of 31 Aug 1989 Street, near the central parks. We particularly liked the Hotel Bristol in Yalta, which as located near the promenade - very pleasant and nice food.
The Rus in Kiev is a favourite of mine. The food is superb and the service excellent. This was my first trip with Regent, and I will be back.
We have just returned from our very enjoyable holiday in Ukraine and would like to thank Christina Gibbons for making all the arrangements. The planning, booking arrangements and ticketing could not have been easier. We appreciated having our train tickets delivered to our hotel, thus avoiding the usual queues in the railway station. All transfers worked to perfection and the drivers were friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable trip and would certainly recommend Regent Holidays to others.
