Experience Angkor Wat in a whole new light with an exclusive tour led by a German Apsara Conservation Project (GACP) expert. Meet at the GACP information centre within the Angkor Wat site to embark on a journey beyond the facade. Learn about the meticulous restoration efforts of devatas, apsaras, and bas-reliefs by the NGO, operational since 1997 in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Germany and APSARA Authority.
Equipped with safety gear, explore hidden corners, climb scaffolding, and gain access to restricted areas for a unique perspective and bird's-eye view of the restoration work. Understand the deterioration and restoration process first-hand while directly supporting the project through your participation.
Note that visiting the worksite requires wearing a helmet, and GACP is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and during major public holidays like the Water Festival ceremony, Pchum Ben Day, and Khmer New Year.
