Convene with nature and connect with local culture on a journey into the heart of Lombok Island. Spend a morning in a Sasak village, then trek through dense ancient forest. Encounter wild monkeys and marvel at Benang Setokel Waterfall.
This full-day Lombok tour showcases the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Depart from the hotel after breakfast and drive to Karang Bayan with a local guide. Upon arrival in this Sasak village, take a short walk to observe daily activities. The locals preserve their traditions in building styles and religious customs. The guide will explain the unique culture and facilitate interactions with the villagers.
Next, explore the island’s natural wonders. Take a light trek through the Suranadi Woodlands, enjoying the fresh air and exotic flora and fauna. Look out for wild monkeys and Suranadi’s towering mahogany trees. This trek lasts 20 to 25 minutes and ranges from light to medium difficulty. After working up an appetite, drive to a local restaurant for lunch. Then, continue to Benang Kelambu for an afternoon adventure. Take a short walk to Benang Setokel Waterfall, a 40-metre high fall fed from a river on Rinjani Mountain. The waterfall features two large drops of clear water resembling threads of string. Swim or enjoy the views before continuing the walk. Follow an undulating trail for 1 kilometre to the spectacular Benang Kelambu fall. Here, the water seems to flow over caverns and through plants, creating the appearance of a giant net of water cast against the mountainside. Relax and enjoy this natural wonder before returning to the car and arriving at the hotel late in the afternoon.
Note: This tour is not recommended during public holidays in Indonesia or the rainy season, as access to the waterfall can be steep and slippery.
