Mt. Fuji & Shizuoka Wasabi Farm Tour (from Tokyo)

A full-day experience that goes beyond the usual Mt. Fuji viewpoint. This is about seeing the mountain from different angles- visually, culturally, and even gastronomically.

Start with a Shinkansen journey out of Tokyo, then switch to the Hokusai-themed train - arguably the highlight in itself. As you travel through Shizuoka, Mt. Fuji reveals itself through the landscapes that inspired Katsushika Hokusai’s Thirty-Six Views, with commentary that brings his work into context. It’s a thoughtful way to connect what you’re seeing with Japan’s artistic heritage.

At the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, you get a clearer understanding of why the mountain holds such importance, before continuing to Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine - long tied to rituals intended to calm Fuji’s eruptions and still an active place of worship today. Nature plays its part at Shiraito and Otodome Falls, where spring water from Mt. Fuji creates two completely different, equally striking scenes - one delicate and curtain-like, the other powerful and direct. Lunch is flexible, with a range of options to suit different dietary needs. The day ends on a distinctly local note at a traditional wasabi farm. Walk through the fields, then try grating fresh wasabi yourself - sharp, clean, and far more nuanced than what most people think of as wasabi. A well-rounded day that balances scenery with substance, and adds a few experiences you wouldn’t typically get on a standard Mt. Fuji tour.
