The Manila Food Tour offers a unique experience of a local breakfast and cultural exploration in Santa Ana, a district outside Intramuros. Breakfast, or "almusal" in Filipino, is followed by a walk to the Pasig River wharf, the central plaza, and the market. At the market entrance, try coconut juice, kakanin (rice cakes), and banana fritters. You'll also meet local vendors, taste Pancit Palabok, an area speciality, and observe how it's prepared. A short tricycle ride will take you to the former residence of President Manuel L. Quezon. Lunch will be served at a host family's home in the district.
In the afternoon, the tour continues to Binondo, one of the world's oldest Chinatowns. Here, you'll enjoy Chinese-inspired cuisine and street food, including various dim sums, noodles, and buns. There will also be opportunities to shop for sweets and treats to take home.
