Discover Suwon & Korean Folk Village

Take a captivating journey into Korea's past, from the strategic military architecture of Suwon’s Hwaseong Fortress to the vibrant cultural heritage preserved within the Korean Folk Village. Gain a deeper understanding of Korea's fascinating history and cultural traditions. Meet your guide at 09:00 to begin the tour, which will be conducted in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with a dedicated driver then start your 1.5-hour journey to Suwon.

Upon arrival, explore Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Constructed during the late Joseon Period (1777-1800), this fortress symbolises the King's devotion to his father and his vision of creating an economically self-sufficient city. The fortress boasts a variety of unique military structures, distinguishing it from other fortifications.

Next, visit the Korean Folk Village. En route, there will be a stop for lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense). The village serves as a living museum, offering a glimpse into daily life during the Joseon Dynasty. It features various distinctive areas such as a farming village, private houses, a Confucian academy, and workshops, each showcasing different aspects of traditional Korean life.
