Hishiya

Hishiya is located in the preserved castle town of Fukuchiyama in northern Kyoto Prefecture, occupying a carefully restored Taisho-era pawnshop dating from the early 20th century. This intimate boutique inn has just four individually designed guest rooms, each showcasing the craftsmanship and materials of the surrounding Tamba and Tango regions, including handmade washi paper, locally sourced cedar and cypress, Tamba lacquer and traditional indigo dyeing. Every room features a spacious cypress bathtub and premium amenities, while breakfast is served beside a counter crafted from local Tamba stone.
