Discovery Coron

Set on its own 19-hectare island in northern Palawan, Discovery Coron feels pleasantly removed from the busier parts of Coron. The resort occupies Dimakya Island, with a 700-metre beach and reefs just offshore for snorkelling and diving. Formerly Club Paradise Palawan, it has 74 suites and villas, including garden, ocean-view and beachfront options. Rooms are air-conditioned and include Wi-Fi, a minibar, mini refrigerator, kettle and en-suite bathroom, with many opening onto a private balcony or veranda. Days can be spent around the outdoor pool, snorkelling the house reef or heading out with the resort’s dive centre, while Glow Spa offers treatments including traditional Filipino hilot massage. Firefish Restaurant serves Filipino and international dishes, and Dugong Bar is the spot for drinks. Island-hopping, hiking and dugong-watching excursions can also be arranged.
