The holiday offers a great insight into the wildlife regions of Sabah which includes cruises along the Kinabatangan River to see the proboscis monkeys, macaques, crocodiles and a huge array of the birdlife before watching the highlight of this particular wildlife show, the orangutan, at Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre.
Next comes the hard work! Head to the World Heritage Site of Kinabalu Park, home to imposing Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Borneo’s Crocker Range. Trek through the rich flora and fauna of the park before spending a brief night on the mountain.
