The journey begins in the sophisticated capital of Hanoi, walk through the Old Quarter where entire streets are dedicated to selling identical products and anything from funeral boxes to silk pyjamas can be purchased. Journey the length of the coast and marvel at the natural beauty of Halong Bay, discover the historical wonders of Hue and enjoy the colourful night markets of Hoi An ancient merchant town. The tour ends in exciting Ho Chi Minh City, where the hum of hundreds of motorcycles, the delicious scents of street cooking and the colourful silk creations are a feast for the senses.
Tour Itinerary
Spend this morning cruising through new waters. Brunch will be served on board before returning to Hanoi in the afternoon. Transfer to Hanoi airport and fly south to Hue. Land and transfer to the hotel. Evening at leisure. (B)
Morning free at leisure. Meet with those passengers who took the overnight train and enjoy lunch with some local specialties in a local restaurant. This afternoon head out on a half-day tour of the Hue Citadel and Royal Antique Museum. (B,L)
