Spend four nights in Ilulissat and experience the midnight sun on this trip to West Greenland. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ilulissat Ice Fjord and see the icebergs calving from the glacier into the sea. Go walking in this unique wilderness and have the chance to see whales.
Fly to Ilulissat with Air Iceland from Reykjavik Domestic Airport. Transfer to the Hotel Arctic and check in for 4 nights. Attend a welcome meeting before enjoying a walking tour of the town to learn about its history. (D)
Travel to the end of the road and enjoy a guided walk along the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ilulissat Ice Fjord to Sermermiut where you will be able to see traces of ancient Inuit settlements. Sermermiut is a valley next to the ice fjord where inland you will see beautiful Arctic flowers and out to sea stunning icebergs. (B,D)
Spend the day at leisure (or arrange an excursion - just ask your Regent Specialist) before heading out on to the fjord for a stunning sunset cruise. The gigantic icebergs take on a whole different complexion when reflecting in the warm red colours of the setting sun. Cruise between the icebergs and enjoy a late drink whilst marvelling at the incredible view. You will be accompanied by a guide and light refreshments are included. (B,D)
Have the day free to explore the town of Ilulissat or book another excursion - you can go fishing, embark on a scenci flights over the ice fjord, take another hike or arrange a kayaking trip where you can really get up close to the icebergs in the bay. (B,D)
After breakfast and a final coffee with your guide, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Reykjavik. (B)
