UNESCO World Heritage Tour in South Korea

13 Day Tour, from £8575 per person

South Korea’s story is written in its heritage sites, and this journey brings you directly to them. Travelling from Seoul through Jeonju, Gwangju, Busan and Gyeongju, the itinerary connects several of the country’s UNESCO-listed landmarks alongside historic cities and cultural centres. These places are more than impressive monuments. They reveal how Korean society, beliefs and traditions have evolved over centuries, from royal dynasties and Confucian academies to Buddhist temples that remain active today. With a sensible pace and time to properly explore each stop, this is a rewarding way to understand the country beyond its modern image.

Along the way, you will walk the walls of Suwon’s Hwaseong Fortress, explore Jeonju’s hanok village in traditional dress, and discover the legacy of the Silla Kingdom in Gyeongju, often described as an open-air museum. The trip also looks at more recent history in Gwangju and ends with a visit to the DMZ, offering a perspective on the Korean peninsula today. One of the most memorable moments is an overnight stay in a Buddhist temple, giving a rare glimpse into monastic life and meditation practices that have shaped Korean culture for centuries. With private transport and expert guides throughout, the journey is both insightful and easy to follow.
