Enjoy adventure trekking in the Danum Valley jungle reserve combined with the more sedate pace of river cruises along the wildlife corridor bordering the Kinabatangan River - both regions are home to a host of birdlife, wild orangutans, pygmy elephants, macaques and the comical proboscis monkeys.

Plus a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, a sanctuary for orphaned and injured orangutans, is a must for any visit to Sabah. Yet the region also has stunning beaches to enjoy which offer world-class snorkelling and diving, some of which are home to the resident green and hawksbill turtle populations which you may be lucky enough to encounter during your wonderful Borneo experience.
