Bjornfjell Mountain Lodge

Set among the mountains above Alta, Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge offers an authentic taste of Norwegian cabin life, surrounded by Arctic wilderness and with the Sarves ski slopes on its doorstep. Around 20 kilometres from Alta, this peaceful retreat provides an ideal base for experiencing the region’s changing seasons, from skiing and snowshoeing in winter to hiking beneath the midnight sun.

The lodge draws inspiration from traditional Norwegian farming and cabin culture, creating a warm and homely atmosphere with natural materials, open landscapes and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Its elevated setting also makes it a wonderful place to look for the Northern Lights during the darker months.

Room Options

Choose between 15 rooms in the main lodge and five private cabins. Rooms feature natural materials and mountain or forest views, while the cabins offer greater space with a living area, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, bathroom and private outdoor seating.

Restaurants & Bars

The lodge restaurant serves modern interpretations of traditional Norwegian dishes, using seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers, fishermen and reindeer herders. Breakfast is included, with lunch and dinner available.
