Tour Itinerary
Fly to Alta and transfer just 20km outside of the village to Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge. Check-in to a private alpine cottage for a relaxing two-night stay surrounded by picturesque mountains and the scenic Altafjord.
Enjoy the morning and early afternoon free at the lodge. Consider hitting the slopes, taking a snowshoe hike or try your hand at winter fat biking. Speak with our Norway travel specialist to book one of these optional activities. This afternoon head out on an exciting husky safari. In the evening, head to the top of the mountain for a polar bonfire and delicious dinner. If the sky is clear, there is a good chance the magical northern lights will appear in the sky above. At the end of the evening, embrace your inner child by sledging down the well-prepared mountain slopes back to the cabin. (B,D)
Leave the idyllic mountain lodge behind and transfer to Norway’s original ice hotel at Sorrisniva to spend one enchanting night in an igloo. Before checking in, head out on a thrilling snowmobile adventure into the Finnmark Plateau. Afterwards, take a tour of the Igloo Hotel before enjoying a few hours at leisure to explore the area or relax. Dinner is an extravagant three-course affair before setting off into the wilderness for a night of aurora hunting. Afterwards, it’s time to head into the igloo for a night at -4°C. (B,D)
Start the morning with a relaxing sauna before enjoying breakfast in the main building. The remainder of the day is at leisure until it is time to transfer to the Alta Airport for the flight back to the UK. (B)
