Tour Itinerary
Fly to Kajaani via Helsinki. On arrival, transfer to your accommodation and check in for three nights at Arctic Giant Hotel.
Begin your Arctic experience with a traditional reindeer sleigh ride through serene, snow-covered landscapes, gliding gently in warm blankets as your guide shares stories of reindeer life and heritage. As evening falls, continue by car to a secluded aurora camp near Arctic Giant. Take in the stillness of deep winter, with star-filled skies and shifting moonlight, and the chance to witness the Northern Lights while enjoying warm drinks in an atmospheric wilderness setting. (B)
After a hearty breakfast, head with your guide to the nearby frozen Lake Iso-Melanen for a traditional ice fishing adventure. Learn how ice fishing is done in Finland as your guide demonstrates the process, then drill your own hole in the ice, set the bait and try your luck in the quiet stillness of the frozen lake, surrounded by pristine winter nature. Continue the experience in the warmth of a traditional Forest Sauna set within a snowy woodland setting, where you can unwind between sessions and refresh with a revitalising dip in the snow or a cold pool, embracing the invigorating contrast of heat and ice in true Arctic style.
