We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and the whole holiday ran like clockwork – everywhere we went there was someone waiting to greet us and everything ran exactly to the times we had been given on our schedule. Everything on our travels had been considered, from ensuring that we always had water, meals and snacks right down to telling us where the toilet stops would be! The staff were always friendly and helpful and the transfers smooth.
For us, the holiday was about the wildlife. Danum valley was amazing. The accommodation is superb and our guide, Akmal was terrific. He was friendly, patient and knowledgeable and we managed to see a mother orangutan and her baby, civets, red leaf monkeys, gibbons, macaques and many more. We really felt that we had experienced a rainforest and we loved trekking to the viewpoint early in the morning, going on the canopy walkway and doing a night walk.
We were equally as lucky on the river and Sepilok. Our guide there, Eric, was superb. He was so knowledgeable about the animals and birds and also told us a lot about the local people and culture. We managed to see another wild mother orangutan and baby, proboscis monkeys and many, many more animals including, the highlight for me, pygmy elephants. The accommodation was excellent and we enjoyed the food at these lodges more than anywhere else.
We would like to congratulate you and your colleagues in Borneo for running such a smooth operation and for making our holiday wholly enjoyable. We would wholeheartedly recommend your company to others and we will certainly use Regent Holidays again!
