FLY TO BRASOV
Medieval Council House in Main Square of Brasov

Arrive in Brasov and enjoy a city tour with a local guide. Discover the medieval allure of Brasov, founded by Teutonic Knights in 1211. The old town, fortified in the 15th century against the Turks, boasts iconic churches such as the Black Church and the Gothic Protestant Church. Unveil the region's rich cultural legacy through museums, theatres, and the first printing press in Transylvania! Learn about its history and former name, City of Stalin. Check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 2
BRASOV TO SIBIU
Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti

This morning, set off to Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti, and hear stories of the bears' rescue, and see them recovering in their natural habitat. Next, venture to the legendary Bran Castle, which symbolises Romanian folklore and medieval history. After lunch, indulge in a Palinca tasting, and savour the robust flavours of this traditional Romanian brandy. Finish the day in Sibiu, where you'll stop for an overnight stay. (B,L)

SIBIU TO SIGHISOARA
Biertan's fortified church

Next, embark on a day of cultural immersion and culinary delights. Visit a vibrant Roma community in Brateiu and gain insight into their customs and lifestyle. Take part in a hands-on cooking class in Marginimea Sibiului, exploring Romania's culinary heritage with a local expert and enjoying your efforts afterwards. Discover the grandeur of Biertan's fortified church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Conclude in the enchanting medieval town of Sighisoara, where you'll spend the night. (B,L)

DAY 4
SIGHISOARA TO BRASOV
village of Viscr

Today, on your journey back to Brasov, visit the idyllic village of Viscri. This village is part of a vibrant community project, dedicated to preserving forgotten traditions and skills. Watch locals engage in age-old practices, from embroidery to blacksmithing, and savour local delicacies while peeking inside cosy wood-heated houses. Wander the streets among chickens and geese and take a walk to its UNESCO-listed fortified church. Enjoy a leisurely horse cart ride. Then, visit Ferma Catean in Rotbav, a farm that has mastered the art of Romanian cheese-making and enjoy a curated tasting session. Return to Brasov. (B)
