DAY 3
MANILA CITY TOUR
Jeepney in Manila

This entire day is devoted to exploring Manila utilising a variety of public transportation options. The tour starts at 9 in the morning by catching the ferry and crossing the Pasig River. During the tour, your guide will provide insights into Philippine history, highlighting areas of the capital that historically derived their wealth from the Pasig River. On the southern bank, the Spaniards built the walled city of Intramuros, while the northern bank is home to Malacañang Palace, the official residence of the President of the Philippines. After disembarking near Fort Santiago, you will hop on a Bamboo Bike for a 1.5-hour tour of Intramuros. Next, you will ride a horse-drawn carriage, locally referred to as a "calesa", to cross MacArthur Bridge en route to Chinatown. Explore the world's oldest Chinatown as you browse its shops and eateries. Enjoy refreshments at a genuine Chinese tea restaurant before continuing your journey via "trisikad" to the Philippine National Railway Station, the country's oldest commuter train service, which opened in 1892. Finally, you'll take a jeepney or a taxi back to your hotel.

Note: Except for the drop off from hotel to Guadalupe ferry station, the tour entails taking public commuter vehicles to reach from one destination to the other. As such, the tour may be daunting for some who hate cramped spaces and large crowds but the more adventurous ones may find in it the opportunity to know more about the country and its people. (B)

DAY 6
DUGONG SPOTTING
DUGONG SPOTTING

Today's excursion offers an unforgettable experience: snorkeling with dugongs, also known as sea cows. Located in northern Busuanga's Dugong Bay, this tour explores the habitat of over 30 dugongs, the largest family of sea cows in the Philippines. Upon arrival at Calauit Island, a native Tagbanua guide joins the group, as the dugong habitat falls within their territory, and they hold a special affinity with these creatures due to tradition and spiritual beliefs. After sailing along the coast of Calauit for approximately 30 minutes, the group reaches the known sanctuary for dugongs. Here, they patiently wait for the dugongs to surface before quietly entering the water for snorkeling, accompanied by the Tagbanua and Tribal Adventures' guide. Interaction with the dugongs is not guaranteed, but the beauty of the coral reefs, turtles, and fish offers consolation. With the Tagbanua's involvement, the success rate for interactions has been over 90%. A picnic lunch and snacks are provided onboard the boat before returning to the resort in the afternoon. (B,L)

DAY 7
BUSUANGA MOUNTAIN BIKE DAY TRIP
Busuanga Countryside

On this day, embark on a mountain biking adventure to explore the northern part of Coron. Traverse carabao (buffalo) trails, bamboo groves, and farmland, venturing through rainforests and crossing streams to reach the coast via single-track trails. Busuanga is an island with mostly dirt roads and you can do as little or as much biking as you want with a 4×4 pick-up shadowing on the driveable roads or meeting cyclists after single-track stints.

The journey commences at Decalachao, situated north of Busuanga Airport. Head south, navigating undulating roads before transitioning to single tracks leading to San Nicolas, located north of Coron Town. Approximately five minutes into the single track, participants will encounter a river crossing, which presents a challenge even during dry seasons. Here, a quick snack break is taken to strategise the pace for the subsequent 12 kilometres of relatively easy to moderate biking across tree-studded plains to reach the bridge at the river bordering San Nicolas. From San Nicolas, pedal 10 kilometres to Guadalupe, exploring local villages before concluding the ride in Coron Town. This adventure offers a unique and exhilarating way to discover the island. (B)
