Fly into Vágar Island, collect the hire car and set off to explore the main sights of the island. Visit the the small village of Bøur before carrying on to the remote village of Gásadalur, which sits prettily on a cliff side surrounded by mountains and dramatic scenery on both sides. Take the sub-sea tunnel to Streymoy and check into your hotel in Tórshavn for a 4-night stay.

Today, venture north through the Faroes’ impressive subsea tunnel network to Klaksvík, the islands’ second-largest town. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and fjords, Klaksvík is the gateway to the Northern Isles. If conditions are clear, consider the short hike up Klakkur for spectacular panoramic views across the surrounding islands and coastline.
Continue through a mountain tunnel to neighbouring Kunoy, a peaceful village framed by steep mountains. Take time to stroll through the village and visit the Faroe Islands’ only forest, a surprising pocket of woodland in an otherwise treeless landscape.
Later, drive north to Viðareiði, one of the northernmost villages in the Faroes. Set between towering mountains and the ocean, it offers some of the most dramatic scenery in the archipelago, with views towards Fugloy on clear days. Return to Tórshavn this evening. (B)

Spend today exploring some of the Faroe Islands’ most iconic landscapes on the neighbouring islands of Streymoy and Eysturoy. Begin with a drive to the picturesque village of Saksun, beautifully set above a tidal lagoon and surrounded by dramatic mountains. Take time to wander through the tiny settlement and admire one of the Faroes’ most photographed views.
Continue north to Tjørnuvík, a remote black-sand beach village with views of the famous Giant and the Witch sea stacks rising from the Atlantic Ocean.
Later, travel through the remarkable Eysturoy Tunnel - home to the world’s first undersea roundabout and continue to the charming village of Gjógv. Known for its dramatic natural harbour and colourful houses, it’s the perfect place for a scenic walk before returning to Tórshavn for the evening. (B)

Spend the morning exploring Tórshavn, one of the world’s smallest capitals. Stroll along the colourful harbour, explore the charming old town of Tinganes with its traditional turf-roofed buildings and visit the Nordic House, the Faroe Islands’ most important cultural centre.
In the afternoon, take a short drive to historic Kirkjubøur, once the cultural and religious heart of the Faroes. Visit Saint Olav’s Church, dating back to the 12th century, and explore the atmospheric ruins of Magnus Cathedral.
On your return to Tórshavn, you may wish to pre-book a visit to the newly opened Ress Spa. Overlooking the dramatic Faroese coastline, it’s the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing, with heated pools, saunas and restorative treatments available. Return to Tórshavn for your final evening. (B)
