The Finnish Archipelago, with over 20,000 islands, is one of the most amazing and unique regions in Finland. Embark on an unforgettable journey along the famous Archipelago trail by e-bike and hop from island to island using local ferries. Begin your adventure in the medieval town of Turku, make your way to three of the largest islands of the Archipelago - Nauvo, Korpo, and Houtskär - immerse yourself in the charm of little harbour villages and enjoy delightful stays in small island boutique hotels with private facilities. 

Please note that this is a self-guided holiday.

 

 

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
FLY TO HELSINKI
Turku - Finland

Fly from the UK to Helsinki and take the train to Turku (the journey takes approximately 2.5 hours*). Upon arrival, transfer to your accommodation by taxi and check in for an overnight stay. 

 

*Due to track works, all trains from Helsinki and Turku will be replaced by busses from 24th June to 28th July. The journey will take approximately 3 hours.

DAY 2
TURKU TO NAUVO

After a hearty breakfast, collect your e-bike and prepare to ride southeast out of the city. A fine system of bike lanes keeps you out of the traffic as you head into the archipelago. Take a short ferry ride to the island of Nauvo (also known as Nagu) and spend your first night by the sea in the beautiful Finnish archipelago. (B)

DAY 3
NAUVO TO HOUTSKÄR

Today cycle to Houtskär island passing by Korpo. An excellent three-course dinner is included tonight in the hotel’s top-rated restaurant. (B,D)

 

(The e-bike journey is approximately 38 kilometres plus ferries today.)

DAY 4
HOUTSKÄR TO KORPO

In the morning, visit Houtskär island on your own steam following the many cycling routes available before taking a relaxing ferry journey back to Korpo island. Upon arrival,  feel free to explore the island further and reach your accommodation. In the evening, enjoy a five-course dinner crafted from delicious local ingredients at your hotel's restaurant. DAY 5
KORPO TO NAANTALI
Naantali - Finland

Return to Nauvo, the main Archipelago island, take the ferry north back to the mainland and continue by e-bike to Naantali, an idyllic harbour village with cobbled streets and old wooden houses. Wander around this charming little village and perhaps enjoy dinner in one of the local restaurants. (B)

DAY 6
NAANTALI TO TURKU

In the morning, ride back to Turku and return your e-bikes. Spend the rest of the day exploring Turku at leisure and indulging in its local delicacies. Consider visiting its modern city centre as well as the old Cathedral and medieval Castle. Besides, Turku boasts a great range of small museums such as the Turku Art Museum, the Sibelius Museum and the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum. (B)

DAY 7
FLY TO THE UK
Turku Castle - Finland

After breakfast, transfer by taxi to the train station and take the train back to Helsinki airport (the journey takes approximately 2.5 hours*) for your flight back to the UK. (B)

 

*Due to track works, all trains from Helsinki and Turku will be replaced by busses from 24th June to 28th July. The journey will take approximately 3 hours.

  • Price per adult is based on two people sharing on stays between 7 Jul 2024 & 25 Aug 2025 and there may be supplements for travel in peak season or flight fare fluctuations  - please ask your Regent Specialist for details.
  • This cycling tour is self-guided. Each guest will receive the full route as downloadable .GPX files and a Route information leaflet, including ferry timings. Please note that there is no guide included. However, on most departures, there will be other guests cycling.
