Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
FLY TO AKUREYRI
Akureyri, Iceland

Fly to Akureyri via Keflavik, the largest town outside the capital Reykjavík. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and check in for three nights. Enjoy a late afternoon walk exploring Akureyri - hopefully under the beautiful light of the midnight sun. If you are a fan of ice cream, then pop into Brynja ice cream parlour - something of an Akureyri institution - expect queues in summer as well as on icy winter days.

DAY 2
WHALE WATCHING
Whale watching - Akureyri, North Iceland

Today, join one of the whale-watching tours out of Akureyri. Take a stroll down to the harbour for the chance to see the incredible Eyjafjord Humpbacks in their natural habitat. The warmth of the summer sun brings vibrant life and plenty of food to the fjord and following it, in a feeding frenzy, come the larger-than-life humpbacks. On board, there are specially trained whale-watching guides who are experts at spotting them and who can teach you all about their behaviour. (B)

DAY 3
AKUREYRI & FOREST LAGOON
Forest Lagoon - North Iceland

Spend the morning at leisure exploring Akureyri under your own steam. Akureyri, often tagged with labels such as ‘capital of North Iceland’, lies at the base of Eyjafjörður, surrounded on either side by a sloping wall of beautiful mountains. In the afternoon, experience North Iceland's newest geothermal spa - Forest Lagoon, located a few minutes' drive from Akureyri in Vaðlaskógur forest. On site, there are two infinity pools with swim-up bars, a sauna and a cafe-bistro. Enjoy the relaxing geothermal waters surrounded by beautiful spruce trees. (B)
