Tour Itinerary
Arrive in Ponta Delgada and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Head out on the open sea in search of whales and dolphins. In the evening, enjoy a walking tour of some of Ponta Delgada’s best bars and eateries, sampling unique Azorean beverages, while learning about the local traditions and drinking culture. Through sips and tales, this tour presents the historical Pico wines, locally produced beer, liqueurs and creative cocktails. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the largest city of the Azores, drinking delicious beverages paired with tasty foods. (B,D)
On this all-terrain jeep tour, visit the village of Sete Cidades and see the two impressive lagoons that have formed in the volcanic caldera, one with blue water and the other green. Along the way, the tour takes in many other picturesque spots. Continue to the coastal village of Mosteiros, which boasts natural swimming pools, a fishing harbour and beach of striking black sand. On the return to Ponta Delgada, stop off at Ferraria, a bathing area where the sea water is warm due to fumaroles off the coast. (B,L)
