DAY 2

HANOI

Arrive in Hanoi and drive to the Silk Path Hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 3

HANOI

Enjoy a city tour of Hanoi which takes in sights including the Ho Chi Minh complex and mausoleum, the Temple of Literature and Long Bien Bridge. Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese coffee on the shore of Hoan Kiem Lake. (B,L)

DAY 4

HANOI TO HALONG BAY

This morning drive to Halong Bay and board the Prince Junk boat. Enjoy lunch while cruising towards secluded Bai Tu Long Bay. Enjoy kayaking and swimming or explore the limestone caves. Return to the boat for a sunset cocktail and dinner onboard. (B,L,D)

DAY 5

HALONG BAY TO SAPA

Visit a local fishing village to learn a little about the life of the residents. Cruise back to the port while lunch is served and return to Hanoi. Enjoy time at leisure for dinner before heading to the railway station for the overnight train to Lao Cai, Sapa. Overnight onboard in a soft sleeper cabin. (B,L)

DAY 6

SAPA

Arrive early morning into Lao Cai and drive further north to Sapa town for breakfast. From Sapa town trek to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, Ta Van and Cau May through the remote mountain scenery. You will likely encounter lots of Red Zao minority people during your walks. Transfer to the Topas Ecolodge for overnight. (B,L)

DAY 7

SAPA

This morning visit one of several morning markets held on various days where you will likely encounter a range of minority tribal people including the colourful "Flower H'mong" people. This really is a wonderful chance to see the true working lives of the local tribal minorities. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on the Chay River, a great way to see the mountain scenery along the way. (B,L)

DAY 8

SAPA TO HANOI

Today is at leisure for your own activities. Return to Lao Cai and board the overnight train back to Hanoi. Overnight onboard. (B)

DAY 9

HANOI TO HO CHI MINH CITY

Arrive Hanoi early morning and drive to the airport for the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Land and drive to the Liberty Central Saigon Centre Hotel. Day at leisure. (-)

DAY 10

NAM CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK

This morning start the four-hour drive to Nam Cat Tien National Park. Arrive and check-into the Forest Floor Lodge and enjoy lunch. Enjoy an afternoon walk through the park to discover the flora and fauna. After dinner, enjoy a night drive for further wildlife spotting. (B,L,D)

DAY 11

NAM CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK

Rise early to the sounds of the forest and take a short speed-boat ride to Tien Island. Learn more about the rehabilitation work being done here. After lunch drive into the forest and hike to Crocodile Lake to enjoy a boat ride - there is the chance to spot some crocodiles! (B,L,D)

DAY 12

HO CHI MINH CITY

After breakfast go for a short hike before being transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City and the Liberty Central Saigon Centre Hotel. Day at leisure. (B)

DAY 13

CU CHI TUNNELS

Drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels and explore the series of tunnels and learn about how the Vietcong lived in the tunnels for extended periods. Return to the city and enjoy a city tour which includes the historic Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera House and Reunification Palace. (B,L)

DAY 14

PHU QUOC ISLAND

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Phu Quoc. Upon arrival, transfer to Mango Bay Resort by shuttle bus. (B)
