An essential day trip from Split, or great alternative base when visiting the central Dalmatia region, Trogir is a wonderful place to spend time in and has all the charms of a Croatian coastal town, in a pocket sized package.
The medieval walled town is full of Romanesque and Renaissance buildings located on a tiny island, linked by bridges to the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. It is 30 minutes by car or bus from Split and easily accessed from Split Airport.
Every corner is full of character and intricately carved Renaissance palaces and elegant churches line the cobbled passageways of the old town which leads out on to a small marina.
