KG Hotel

Opened in 2026, KG Hotel is a contemporary waterfront hotel in the centre of Klaksvík, surrounded by the mountains and fjords of the Northern Islands. Designed by renowned Danish architects Henning Larsen, the hotel brings a new level of accommodation to this part of the Faroes, with stylish Nordic interiors, excellent dining and a dedicated spa. Its central location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Northern Islands.

The hotel has 83 contemporary rooms across five floors, many making the most of the surrounding mountain, harbour and fjord views. Categories range from Compact and Standard Rooms to larger Superior and Deluxe options, including rooms with sea views. Interiors feature natural materials, large windows and understated Nordic design, with tea and coffee-making facilities, Smart TVs and modern bathrooms.

Dining

Sand Restaurant places Faroese ingredients at the heart of its menu, with locally sourced seafood and grilled meats among the specialities. The contemporary restaurant provides a relaxed setting for dinner after a day exploring the Northern Islands, while the hotel also has inviting areas for drinks and refreshments.

Location & Experiences

KG Hotel occupies a waterfront position in central Klaksvík, within walking distance of the harbour, shops and cafés. From here, it is easy to explore Borðoy and neighbouring Kunoy and Viðoy, visit the beautifully situated village of Viðareiði or take the ferry from Klaksvík to Kalsoy.

Back at the hotel, Alda Spa provides a welcome contrast to days spent outdoors, with sauna and steam facilities alongside a choice of massages and treatments inspired by the North Atlantic landscape.
