Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel

The world’s northernmost igloo hotel, Sorrisniva offers an extraordinary Arctic experience where every winter a spectacular new hotel is sculpted entirely from snow and ice.

Set beside the Alta River just outside Alta, the hotel combines imaginative ice art with the tranquillity of the surrounding Arctic wilderness, creating a stay unlike any other.

Each season brings a new theme, with local and international artists transforming the interiors into intricate sculptures and illuminated displays. Rooms and individually designed suites are maintained at around -4°C, with warm sleeping bags ensuring a surprisingly comfortable night beneath the ice. The experience is complemented by access to the neighbouring warm building and its facilities.

Room Options

Choose from individually decorated ice rooms and more elaborate suites, each featuring its own artistic design. All guests sleep in specially designed thermal sleeping bags on insulated beds.

Restaurants & Bars

The warm building houses a restaurant serving seasonal dishes inspired by locally sourced Arctic ingredients. There is also an ice bar, where drinks are served in glasses carved from ice.
