Newly renovated and re-opened in 2021, Hotel Bohinj aims to bring sustainability and contemporary design to Bohinj, in the heart of the Triglav National Park.
Located less than 100m from Bohinj's beautiful lake, the hotel is built in the traditional Alpine style with a pitched roof and timber frame. It's shape represents the Julian Alps that surround it.
The hotel has 69 rooms, mainly a mixture of Classic and Comfort rooms with many featuring balconies with mountain views and a select few with lake views, all with panoramic windows. The rooms have hardwood floors and walls; in-keeping with its Alpine style and furniture made by local crafts people.
The hotel also features a restaurant which focuses on local specialities using very locally sourced produce. In addition there is a café, conference centre and Spa & Wellness centre with outdoor whirl pool, sauna and salt therapy room. Of course, the largest swimming pool is actually Lake Bohinj itself!
The hotel renovation greatly enhanced the energy efficiency of the original hotel building, adding key sustainable architectural elements, such as new insulation and glazing, geothermal heat pumps and LED lighting used throughout. The external lighting scheme is kept purposefully low in order to preserve the dark skies of the national park.
Free parking is available nearby.
