Aurora Safari Camp

Aurora Safari Camp is the first glamping experience of its kind, designed specifically for Arctic winters. Located on the shores of Lake Degerselet, approximately 1 hour's drive from Luleå, the camp itself is completely off the grid. 

The camp has been shifted to a new location along the lake to offer guests even more incredible views of the northern sky. Because of its remote location, far from any other light pollution, Aurora Safari Camp offers spectacular opportunities to see the northern lights. From the reception building, travel by snowmobile sled to reach the authentic Lavvu Tent or Cone room for check-in.

At the camp there are just five rooms - two classic tents, a larger deluxe tent and two  cone rooms, featuring wood and glass walls for excellent northern lights viewing. All three options are heated with a burner so guests can experience the elements and spectacular nature of the north without compromising on warmth and comfort. Each tent has en-suite facilities comprising of a toilet and wash basin. Shower facilities are at the floating sauna down by the lake. Each unique property of the Aurora Safaris family brand – Aurora Safari Camp, The Outpost and Blomberg's Guest House - offers something different but all with the same ethos.

Guests at the camp enjoy free access to a range of equipment to enjoy self-lead activities including fat biking, kick sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The host will be on hand and happy to give instructions on how to use all of the equipment. 

A highlight of every stay is the sauna in the ice experience. The sauna is on a floating raft frozen into the lake. Here the brave at heart can experience an icy plunge through a hole cut in the ice and then warm up in the lovely sauna.

Throughout this all-inclusive visit all culinary needs are catered for and there is a small selection of wine and beer available to go with your meals. This is truly an arctic glamping experience like no other.
