Borneo is a fabulous destination for those honeymooners looking for a good balance of wildlife adventure and luxury beach time.
Starting with a few nights to explore the capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, or KK as it’s known to many, head off to visit the key wildlife habitats. This includes the Kinabatangan River ‘wildlife corridor’ to search for proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants and wild orangutan and of course no trip to Borneo is complete without a visit to Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre. Enjoy watching the semi-wild orangutans descend from their treetop hangouts to enjoy a hearty breakfast.
The finale of the honeymoon is four nights at the five-star
Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort staying in a deluxe sea view room. The resort sits at the edge of their own 64-acre nature reserve which is home to an array of wildlife including the lovable orangutans. Your stay here includes a private gazebo dinner on the beach: enjoy sunset cocktails followed by your private candlelit gazebo dinner with dishes provided by the resort’s award-winning Coast restaurant, a memorable end to an already unforgettable Borneo honeymoon.
