Explore the Faroe Islands on this leisurely yet comprehensive short break based in Tórshavn. Spend time exploring the narrow streets of the capital’s old town with its turf-roofed houses, and enjoy included excursions to some of the most popular sights on the archipelago.

Visit the Northern Islands, discover Kirkjubour village, explore Sandoy island, and hunt for the breeding areas of guillemots, razorbills and puffins at the towering Vestmanna bird cliffs. DAY 1
FLY TO VAGAR
Torshavn, the Faroe Islands

Fly to Vagar and take the transfer to Tórshavn, the capital of this beautiful and remote archipelago. Check-in to 62°N Hotel for a 4 night stay. Other hotels are available.

DAY 2
THE NORTHERN ISLANDS
Seal Woman Statue, Kalsoy Island

After a hearty breakfast, set off on a full-day tour to experience the raw and beautiful nature of the Northern Islands (including many filming locations for the newest James Bond Movie No Time to Die). Drive through Streymoy, Eysturoy, Borðoy, Kalsoy and Kunoy while the guide shares local tales and legends. From the fishing capital of Klaksvík take the ferry onward to Syðradalur on Kalsoy island. Visit the most famous village on the island, Mikladalur and see the Seal Woman Statue. (B,L)
Optional Extra:
An optional hike to the famous Kallurin Lighthouse can be added to today's excursion. Speak to your Faroe Islands specialist for more details. Those who choose this add on will not see the Seal Woman statue in Mikladalur.

SANDOY ISLAND & KIRKJUBOUR
Kirkjubour, The Faroe Islands

On this nature tour to the untouched Sandoy island follow in the footsteps of the Vikings and experience quaint villages, bird cliffs and historic settlements. See the world's largest mailbox. Then, visit Kirkjubøur, the ‘cultural capital’ of the Faroe Islands, featuring the oldest wooden house in the country, which dates back to the Viking era, as well as St. Ólav’s Church, and the ruins of St. Magnus’ Cathedral. DAY 4
VESTMANNA BIRD CLIFFS
Vestmanna Bird Cliffs, the Faroe Islands

Travel by bus over the mountain road to Vestmanna , board the boat and head out to sea and along the precipitous bird cliffs, home to nesting puffins, guillemots and kittiwakes. Explore caves that delve into the cliff faces and then return to the harbour. After lunch, visit the ancient Viking settlements at Kvívík before returning to Tórshavn. (B)

Price based on two people sharing a twin/double room in June. Supplements may apply for peak-season dates or flight fare variations. International flights are based on the direct Gatwick–Vágar service operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays or Edinburgh on Mondays and Thursdays, with regional departures via Copenhagen also available (supplements may apply). 

A sustainability fee of approximately DKK 20 per person per night (age 16+) applies in the Faroe Islands and is typically payable locally.
