Tour Itinerary
Fly from the UK to Gothenburg, Sweden's second largest city. Upon arrival, pick up the hire car and go to the hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is free to explore the vibrant city which boasts a variety of excellent restaurants and tourist attractions. We recommend taking a stroll along the famous Avenyn boulevard, Gothenburg's main street. Why not give your taste buds a treat by sampling delicious ice creams and pastries at Kampanilen bakery on Karl Johansgatan.

This morning, drive to the archipelago of the west coast of Sweden. We recommend a detour to see the island of Marstrand and the sweeping views from Carlsten Fortress. Venture into the Tjörn archipelago and across to Klädesholmen, a small and charming island, known for its herring industry. (B)
Overnight at Salt & Sill Hotel or similar.
Take a pleasant stroll by the sea on the picturesque island of Åstol, which can be easily reached by ferry. Then continue north by crossing the island of Orust. Arrive in Fiskebäckskil, a beautiful village with small wooden houses along the quay, shimmering colours and traditional fishing boats. At the end of the day, take the small ferry to Lysekil. (B)
Overnight at Gullmarsstrand Hotel or similar.
The small village of Lysekil, on the island of Västra is full of charm and is a real pleasure to explore. We recommend taking a stroll through the Stangehuvud Nature Reserve before heading north. Take the coastal road, rather than the national road, in order to make the most of the trip. Finish the days' drive upon reaching the small resort village of Fjällbacka. (B)

Enjoy a day free in Fjällbacka. Those fond of Camilla Lackberg's detective novels should consider joining a theme guided tour. If not, why not go on an excursion on the island of Välon? (B)
