Spend four nights at the adult-only boutique Nangu Wilderness Hotel on the banks of Lake Inari. Explore the snowy wilderness of remote Lapland in winter, staying in beautifully-designed, rustic accommodation. Try snowshoeing under the Northern Lights and snowmobiling across the frozen lake, then enjoy husky sledding and meeting local reindeer.
All excursions on days 2-4 indicated below are included in this holiday, but the order in which you enjoy them may vary depending on timing and snow conditions when you arrive in Finland.
Tour Itinerary
Fly to Ivalo and transfer to the Nangu Wilderness Hotel. Upon arrival, receive the programme schedule before a welcoming dinner. Depending on the time, cold weather gear is provided either upon arrival or the next day. (D)
Snowmobile adventure: Snowmobiling is the best way to truly explore the vast expanse of Lake Inari, the third biggest lake in Finland. After a trial lesson and safety orientation, head off on a snowmobiling adventure that will take you over the frozen lake and through the untouched wilderness surrounding it. During the day, enjoy lunch by the open camp fire with warm drinks. (B,L,D)
Gentle snowshoeing: Embark on a gentle walk through beautiful and calming snowy surroundings close to the hotel. Don your snowshoes (and poles if preferred) and along the way, hear interesting stories and information about Finnish nature from your guide. (B,L,D)
Husky safari & reindeer farm visit in Nellim: Spend a thrilling day with huskies and reindeer. During the Husky Safari, learn how to handle the sled and ride with the trained dogs through beautiful winter scenery around Lake Inari. It soon becomes clear why this is such an incredible activity with memories to last a lifetime. Continue to a reindeer farm and learn more about Sámi culture, life in the north and reindeer herding.
Aurora Snowmobiling: As the day draws to a close, embark on an Aurora snowmobiling adventure. Few sights are as breathtaking as seeing the Aurora Borealis dancing across the dark winter sky. (B,L,D)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to the UK. (B)
