Tour Itinerary
Fly to Kittilä, in the northern reaches of Finland, and transfer to the Northern Lights Ranch. This luxurious property is tucked away amongst the trees and snow far from any artificial light pollution, making it the perfect place from which to watch the northern lights each winter. Here, cosy cabins boast two panoramic, perpendicular glass walls and a glass roof, offering some of the region's best aurora viewing opportunities from your bed. (D)
Awake as the sun rises over the ranch, having (hopefully) enjoyed some spectacular displays of the northern lights from your cabin the night before. Spend today with some of Lapland's most iconic residents: husky dogs. Long used as a form of transport by the indigenous Sami communities during Lapland's frozen winters, these days tourists too can experience the thrill of taking a husky sledge out across the wilderness. Meet your guide and the dogs, and have a demonstration on how to mush the dogs before either taking the reins or climbing into the sled to enjoy the view. The afternoon is free for you to relax, explore at your leisure or book another active excursion.
