Scenic Cycling through Norway's Dovrefjell
Experience Norway's beautiful landscape by bike on this scenic Tour de Dovre, a spectacular cycling adventure through some of the country's stunning landscapes. Follow well-marked gravel and asphalt roads through dramatic mountains, peaceful valleys and pristine wilderness, skirting three national parks: Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella, Rondane and Dovre. Meet friendly farmers and welcoming locals along the way, while your luggage is transferred between cosy lodges. Each evening, relax in comfortable accommodation and enjoy delicious local cuisine. Suitable for keen cyclists and active families, with mountain bikes and e-bikes available.
Tour Itinerary
Arrive in Oslo and take the transfer to Hjerkinn to start your cycling adventure. Settle in for the night. (D)
The route between Hjerkinn and Grimsdalshytta follows first a forest trail to the beautiful Kvitdalen before you reach the road to Folldal. From Folldal you follow Rondane National Tourist Roads towards Grimsdalen. Here you cycle between the two national parks. Dovre National Park on one side and Rondane National Park on the other side, until you reach the accommodation for the night.(B,L,D)

From the heart of Dovre National Park, you follow the gorgeous Grimsdalen further upstream along the river Grimse. The route is relatively flat except for the last climb up to the mountain pass. From there, a steep downhill will bring you into the Gudbrandsdalen that you will follow until you reach Trolltun in Dombås, where you stay for the night. (B,L,D)

Follow the old mountain road through Dovrefjell. On the right side, you have the fantastic Dovre National Park and on your left side, you have Grytdalen and Snøhetta, the highest mountain in Dovrefjell. There are several lovely places to stop along the way to take pictures and have lunch .(B,L,D)

Transfer from your accommodation back to Oslo for your flight home. (B,L)
