Based in the bustling capital, Reykjavík, embark on a series of exhilarating 4x4 excursions designed to get you to the heart of South Iceland’s natural wonders. Modified with huge tyres to take on Iceland’s challenging rugged terrain, Superjeeps are built for adventure. Get off the beaten track and hunt for the mystical northern lights before discovering the waterfalls, geysers, and black volcanic beaches of the spectacular south.
Please note that the included Superjeep excursions are not private.
Arrive in Iceland’s capital, take a private transfer to the hotel and check in for four nights. In the evening head out on an exciting Northern Lights Superjeep hunt and travel into the mountains in search of the elusive aurora. Travelling by modified jeep allows you to get off-road and hunt for the phenomenon in the dark wilderness.
Enjoy a free day to explore the world’s most northerly capital at leisure. Perhaps stroll down Laugavegur and shop for Icelandic woollen wear, head to Laugardalslaug outdoor swimming pool for a revitalising dip in the geothermal waters or visit the Northern Lights Centre to learn about the ancient legends and myths which surround the natural phenomenon. (B)
Join a Superjeep excursion exploring the trio of natural wonders collectively known as the Golden Circle. Discover icy Gullfoss waterfall which tumbles down a deep meandering gorge and the nearby Geysir geothermal field where mighty Strokkur erupts twenty metres into the air. Continue to Þingvellir National Park, site of the world’s oldest parliament and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Consider booking an optional hour-long glacier snowmobiling adventure as part of this tour. (B)
Embark on a full-day Superjeep tour to Iceland’s magnificent south coast. Visit some of the areas most affected by the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption, follow the trail behind beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, walk on black sand beaches pounded by the Atlantic surf and visit the town of Hveragerdi where local produce is grown in row-upon-row of geothermally-heated greenhouses. (B)
Take a private transfer to the airport via the famous Blue Lagoon, known for its silica, minerals and algae which give the water its vibrant blue colour. Enjoy a rejuvenating soak with the lagoon’s Experience Comfort package which also includes a drink from the in-water bar, use of towel, a silica mud mask and an algae mask (self-applied in the water). Transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK. (B)
