The cool hill station of Dalat is located a day’s drive from Ho Chi Minh City and a world away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. This small town has an abundance of French colonial heritage as it was once the playground of the French when they wanted to escape the heat and crowds of the cities. Largely unaffected by the war, the town retains its original cobbled streets and French architecture so is a great option for a cooling break, the area is also home to excellent tea and coffee plantations, fruit gardens and some of the best mountain biking and hiking south of Sapa.
