You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d already crossed the border into Albania when you reach Ulcinj, down in the far south corner of Montenegro, for over 60% of the population are ethnic Albanians. The call to prayer echoes out of the many mosques scattered around the old town, while the city beaches buzz with activity below. Nearby you can find Velika Plaza, the country’s longest and sandiest beach and Ada Bojana, an island on the Bojana river delta where you can sample some of the best seafood Montenegro has to offer.
