5-Day Mt. Fuji Nature & Culture Add-on

5 Day Tour, from £3520 per person

See a different side of Mt. Fuji with this immersive five-day add-on through the mountain's quieter western foothills. Designed to be incorporated into a longer tailor-made holiday in Japan, this journey goes beyond the classic viewpoints to introduce the landscapes, communities and traditions that exist in the shadow of Japan's most iconic peak. Travelling at a relaxed pace, you'll spend five days exploring with knowledgeable local guides, combining gentle outdoor activities with meaningful cultural experiences. Cycle around Lake Tanuki and Shiraito Falls, enjoy a guided hike or seasonal nature walk beneath Mt. Fuji, then unwind in a private glamping retreat before continuing to a beautifully restored Japanese guesthouse inspired by the works of Katsushika Hokusai.

This itinerary is about spending time in the places many visitors never see. Explore Fujinomiya through its historic shrine, visit local tea farms and traditional craft workshops, and learn to make the city's famous yakisoba noodles before enjoying meals showcasing seasonal regional ingredients. A guided Hokusai walk through villages, temples, shrines and a traditional sake brewery offers another perspective on the landscapes that inspired some of Japan's best-known woodblock prints. As this is an add-on itinerary rather than a standalone holiday, it is designed to complement a wider journey through Japan.
