Banaue Rice Terraces

Check in at Manila airport for your flight to Cauayan. Upon arrival, a private vehicle will transport you on a 3-hour journey to Banaue. Along the way, you'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant and pass through Kiangan, a village near the banks of the Ibulao River, considered the first village of Ifugao ancestors.

 

Upon reaching Banaue, head straight to Barangay Viewpoint for a panoramic view of the rice terraces, a marvel of Ifugao's engineering. (B,L,D)

BANAUE TO SAGADA
Hanging Coffins in Sagada
Embark on an exciting jeepney ride to explore the stunning Banaue Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and marvel of ancient engineering, where you'll witness the intricate irrigation system that has sustained the terraces for over 2,000 years. Start at Barangay Viewpoint for panoramic views of the terraces, known as the "Stairway to the Sky." A short hike to Banga-an Rice Terraces lets you interact with locals, visit a village school, and even experience traditional rice production. Enjoy lunch with a view of the paddies, then visit the local market for handicrafts. For adventure seekers, ride atop a jeepney as you travel through Mt. Journey back to Manila this morning with a stop in Bacolor, a town deeply affected by the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption. As you drive along the North Expressway, the landscape shifts from open spaces to bustling urban areas, marking the end of the 4-day trip.
