Begin in Oslo, where contemporary Nordic design meets rich heritage. Travel north through the forested valleys of the Gudbrandsdalen region to reach the fjordlands via the Dovre and Rauma railways — two of Norway’s most scenic train lines.
Explore the architectural charm of Ålesund and cruise through the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known for its towering cliffs, plunging waterfalls and near-vertical farms, the fjord offers a striking window into Norway’s natural grandeur.
Tour Itinerary
Upon arrival into Oslo Airport take the airport express train to the city centre and continue to the hotel to check in for the night. The remainder of the day is free at leisure to explore Norway's exciting capital.
Today embark on a scenic train journey from Oslo to Dombås aboard the Dovre Railway. The route traces the shores of Lake Mjøsa, Norway's largest lake, before reaching the Olympic town of Lillehammer. The train ascends through the picturesque Gudbrandsdalen valley with its verdant landscapes and traditional farms. Upon arrival at Dombås, change trains and head to Andalsnes, where you will spend the night. (B)
After breakfast, take the bus to Geiranger. This is a stunning fjord village located in the innermost parts of the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Geiranger and the surrounding area is amazingly beautiful, and you are sure to find fantastic nature experiences here. Spend the night in Geiranger. (B)
Today embark on a scenic cruise through Norway's most awe-inspiring fjord. Get up close to the legendary Seven Sisters waterfall as it plunges 250 metres into the fjord. Glide past historic mountain farms perched on steep hillsides, where families lived and worked for generations. On arrival into Ålesund, make your way to your hotel. (B)
Travel by bus from Ålesund to Selje through Norway’s scenic coastal landscapes, before boarding an express boat to Bergen. The onward voyage follows the beautiful coastline, calling at small coastal communities and offering wonderful views of islands, fjords and traditional fishing villages along the way. (B)
Enjoy some leisure time in Bergen until it is time to bid farewell to Norway and fly back to the UK. (B)
