Explore Frogner Park, an impressive park with 212 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland and a national symbol with the Arkehus Fortress. Begin the day with a scenic train journey through countryside, mountains, and the high plateau of Hardangervidda towards the fjords. Arrive at Myrdal and switch to the renowned Flåmsbana, a train offering breathtaking views as it descends to Flåm nestled in the fjord's hollow. Enjoy a brief stay in Flåm on the Sognefjord's shores before a cruise on the Sognefjord. Board a boat to Balestrand, then take a short walk to the Midtnes Hotel. Free day in the Hanseatic city to soak up the atmosphere of the old port, Bryggen, listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Stroll along the fish market or get lost in the alleys dotted with wooden houses. If you take the funicular to the top of Mount Fløien, you can admire Bergen the city of seven hills from above. (B )
Another day of discovery of Bergen before embarking, in the evening, on board the famous coastal express. Here you are on the Hurtigruten, a boat operating between Bergen and Kirkenes every day since 1893, skirting the entire Norwegian coast. Night in a double exterior cabin. (B)
In the morning, the boat sails into the Geirangerfjord. The Hurtigruten passes the waterfalls of the Seven Sisters and the Veil of the Bride, as well as abandoned farmhouses dotting the shores of the fjord. The latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and you will understand why the Geirangerfjord is considered one of the most beautiful in Norway.
Disembark in the early afternoon and relax in Geiranger, on the shores of the fjord. You can try an excursion to Mount Dalsnibba to discover the fjord from above. Overnight at Hotel Geiranger or similar.(B)
In the early afternoon, the coastal express takes you up the Geirangerfjord again to bring you to Ålesund.
