Book a Land of the Northern Lights Group Tour between 17 Dec 2024 and 28 Feb 2025 and save up to £100pp on all departures from Sep 2025 to Apr 2026. Speak to a Regent Specialist for more information.
Spend your days bathing in geothermal pools and exploring volcanic landscapes, before venturing deep into the Icelandic countryside where you have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. The further you are away from the light pollution of cities, the easier it is to spot the lights.
That's why we base you in traditional cabins on the banks of the River Ranga for two nights. As darkness falls reach the ridges of the Helka volcano and the black beaches of the south coast in search of the best seat for the show. Our expert guides will introduce the aurora borealis and share their secrets on the best places to see it. There are more chances for adventure during the day. Take an easy hike across Sólheimajökull glacier, find out how Iceland grows its salad leaves in a geothermal greenhouse or meet Iceland’s famous ponies at a horse farm.
In the Blue Lagoon bathe in geothermal waters, and on our tour of the Golden Circle see gurgling hot spring geysers and the continental divide. Start and finish your tour in Reykjavík, the tiny but trendy capital packed with museums, art galleries and some of the best Nordic seafood around.
Ask us to upgrade your hotel in Reykjavík.
Fly to Iceland. Transfer by Flybus airport shuttle from Keflavík International Airport to Hotel Cabin in Reykjavík and check in for an overnight stay.

In the afternoon, embark on an optional easy glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull glacier* or take a stroll on the black lava beach at Reynisfjara, where dramatic cliffs have been carved by the formidable Atlantic. In the evening, enjoy a presentation about the northern lights and if the sky is clear, keep a look out overhead as they may be visible swirling across the night sky. Overnight at Stracta hotel. (B)
